Mark 'Scooby' White Webmaster www.scoobysoft.com
Since completing his BSc. in Computer & Software Engineering @ Athlone Institute of Technology, Mark has worked as a C#.NET developer and web designer. Initially he spent 2
years developing software for mobile applications with
Qubos before setting up his own
internet advertising company which kept him out of trouble for 5 years until
his return to college in 2009. He is now in his second year of an Energy Informatics PhD. His most recent paper is entitled: "An Energy Efficiency Metric to Report the
Cost of Data Centre Services to Consumers in Real-Time".
Keeping his web design hand in, Mark recently redesigned the NUI Galway Civil
Engineering website. He has been a tutor in the IT Department's Drop-In Programming Support Centre (DISC) since it opened 2
years ago. Mark is lead vocalist and guitarist with his own band 'Scooby' - gigging in pubs
and at weddings most weekends around the country. He also plays saxophone.
In the past he played rugby with Blackrock RFC and still maintains his 'non-player' membership - in case the
damage to his dodgy left knee can be reversed with some miraculous surgery not
yet invented! Mark is also a keen photographer. |
